In 2006, I was first introduced to yoga through a health
book that happened to have a section on yoga. At that point in my life, I was willing to try just about
anything to find some meaning. So
for the next few months, I followed the instructions for each pose. It blew me away to see the amount of
strength, confidence, and peace I received from yoga in a short period of
time. From there, I practiced at
numerous studios, checking out different styles and ways of teaching. Then I stumbled upon the Spokane Yoga
Teacher Training Program, which had four knowledgeable instructors coming from
various backgrounds. It became
quickly clear that this was a perfect fit. I completed the 200-hour teacher training in January 2009
and have been teaching at a local gym since then. My intention is to share the incredible benefits of yoga as
I discover them and continue to deepen my own practice.
Zoe, 56, has been practicing yoga since 1998 and began teaching in 2007. She is currently in the process of obtaining her Yoga Alliance Certification. Her classes, which are primarily Iyengar based, include vinyasa, breathing, relaxation, and meditation with a little Pilates tossed in for good measure. Her aim is for her students to find the ease in their practice along with strength, flexibility, and balance that comes with the work. Zoe is not actively teaching at our studio because she is focused now on her own studio, Zoga Yoga in Suncrest. Look for her there, or ocasionally as a substitute teacher.
Patty is delighted to be a part of the Spokane yoga community. She trained in "Integrated Methods of Hatha Yoga" in Denver, CO in 2007, and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (200 hours) through Yoga Alliance. Patty has enjoyed a wide range of sport and dance activities, but has also sustained multiple injuries because of them. She discovered yoga as a method of healing for her aching body and weakening joints. Yoga invites her to enjoy movement, find peace and relaxation and do so in a safe and healthy way. She hopes to share this with other yoga practitioners of all levels. When not on the mat she is either enjoying the great outdoors or studying to pass exams for her Masters in Social Work.

Other passions include traveling, creating, exploring, food, art, music, nature & anything that feeds the soul!
